Ordinance 749 ORDINANCE NO. 749
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
CREATING THE PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT: PRO-
VIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A DIRECTOR THEREOF
AND FOR HIS COMPENSATION: PROVIDING THAT SAID
DIRECTOR SHALL HAVE GENERAL SUPERVISION OVER THE
CITY CONVENTION BUREAU AND THE NEWS BUREAU DIVI-
SION; PROVIDING THAT ONE PERSON MAY BE APPOINTED
DIRECTOR OF MORE THAN ONE OF SAID BUREAUS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That there is hereby created a department to be known as
PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT" .
Section 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
and empowered to appoint, by and with the consent of
the City Council of said City, a direcotr of said
Public Relations Department who shall serve for the
term, and under the same provisiins, as other appointive
officers of the City.
Section 3 . That the Director of the Public Relations Department
shall have general supervision of the City Convention
Bureau created by Ordinance No. 621 of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, and the News Bureau Division of
said City.
Section 4. That the Director of the Public Relations Department
may, if appointed so to do, also hold the office of
Director of the City Convention Bureau or Director
of the News Bureau Division, or both.
Section 5. That the salary of the Director of Public Relations
Department shall be fixed by ordinance.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.
