Ordinance 764 ORDINANCE NO. 764
AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING DAYLIGHT
SAVINGS TIME FROM APRIL 28, 1946,
TO SEPTEMBER 29, 1946.
WHEREAS, the Northeastern Section of the United States
will adopt Daylight Savings Time on April 28, 1946, and extending to
September 29, 1946; and
WHEREAS, it would create great confusion and inconvenience
if the City of Miami Beach were not to adopt Daylight Savings Time,
and if the time set in the City of Miami Beach was not in conformity
with that adopted on the Eastern Seaboard during the period afore-
said,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Daylight Savings Time shall be the official time
within the City of Miami Beach for the transaction of
all City business from midnight, April 28, 1946, to and including
midnight, September 29, 1946. On April 28, 1946, at midnight all
time shall be advanced one (1) hour and on September 29, 1946, at mid-
night, all time shall be set back one (1) hour.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of April, A. D. , 1946.

Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that Ordinance No. 764, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME FROM APRIL 28, 1946,
TO SEPTEMBER 29, 1946" , having been passed and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me
in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, one
of which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 3rd
day of April, A. D. , 1946, and that said Ordinance remained posted
for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the require-
ments of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, on this the 7th
day of May, A. D. , 1946.
