AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 549, ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, CREATING CERTAIN DIVISIONS AND OFFICES OF
THE CITY SERVICE AND CLARIFYING THE ADMINISTRATIVE
ORGANIZATION OF THE CITY FOR PURPOSES OF CARRYING OUT
THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT, AND GIVING
THE CITY MANAGER AUTHORITY TO PRESCRIBE FUNCTIONS OF
THE VARIOUS DIVISIONS OF THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI RF,ACH, FLORIDA".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTIQN 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 549 of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1: That the departments and bureaus referred to in Para-
graph "C" of Section 5 of Chapter 18696 of the Special Acts of
Florida, 1937, shall consist of organizational units as follows:

SECT ON 4: That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 549 of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 4: That pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of
House Bill No. 687, being Chapter 18696 of the Special Acts of
Florida, 1937, the Administrative Officers referred to in Section
2 of this Ordinance are in the Un -classified Service of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida."
SECTS: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 549 of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 5: That the City Manager shall have, within the limi-
tations of the Charter of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and
the implications of the Division and/or Office Titles, wide
latitude in prescribing the functions of the various Organiza-
tional Units of the City Service and the duties of the Admini-
strative Officers of said City."
SECTION 6: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7: That should any part of this ordinance be declared invalid or
unconstitutional, the remaining portions shall continue in
force and effect as though such invalid or unconstitutional portion had not
been contained herein.
SECTION 8: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its
passage and posting as required by law.

STRATIVE ORGANIZATION OF THE CITY FOR PURPOSES OF CARRYING OUT

been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous places
in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the
City Hall in said City on the 4th day of August, A. D. 1949, and
that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City
Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed

the 6th day of September, A. D. 1949.
