AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDI-
NANCE NO. 497 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH;
ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CLASSIFYING, REGU-
LATING AND/OR PROHIBITING CERTAIN NOISES
IN SAID CITY AND FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIO-
LATION THEREOF".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 497 of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto, at the end thereof, the following:
"13. The use of any mechanical loudspeaker or amplifier in con-
nection with which there are any openings or outlets from
the interior to the exterior of the building in which
said loudspeaker or amplifier is located or the use of any
loudspeaker or amplifier which is affixed to the exterior
wall or premises of any building; provided, however, that
the provisions of this section shall not apply to any
amplifier or mechanical loudspeaker used directly in con-
nection with events or functions of a public or civic
nature conducted in public parks or on other public
property; and provided, further, that nothing herein shall
be deemed to apply to wired music systems where the maxi-
mum volume of sound therefrom is controlled by the central
station of the operator of sued wired nra ±c a7atom and
the volume of sound therefrom is not in excess of plus 12
decibels with a 6 milli-watt reference level measured
across a 500 ohm line, provided that said wired music
systems shall be operated only between the hours of 11:00
o' clock A. M. and 5:00 o' clock P. M."
SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and posting as required by law.

No. 825, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDI-
NAN CE NO. 497 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, ENTITLED: "AN ORDI-
NANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CLASSIFYING, REGU-
LATING AND/OR PROHIBITING CERTAIN NOISES IN SAID CITY AND
FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", having been passed
and adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous places in
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 19th day of November, A.
D. , 1947, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of
at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of
the City Charter of the said. City of Miami Beach.
