AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 394 ENTITT,FD:
"AN ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
IMPOSING LICENSES AND OTHER TAXES ON PRIVILEGES,
BUSINESSES, OCCUPATIONS AND PROFESSIONS CARRIED ON
AND ENGAGED IN WITHIN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR THE EXERCISING OF SUCH PRIVILEGES OR
CARRYING ON SUCH BUSINESSES, OCCUPATIONS OR PRO-
FESSIONS, WITHOUT A LICENSE OR OTHER FAILURE TO
COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS THEREOF".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That that portion of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 394 of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as follows:
"CONTRACTORS: All of the following contractors, excepting
awning contractors, after complying with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 285, as amended, ,shall pay a license fee as
follows:
GENERAL CONTRACTORS 155.25
BRICK, STONE, CEMENT-BLOCK, TILE
AND CONCRETE CONTRACTORS 77.65
AWNINGS, etc. , (subject to provisions of
Ordinance No. 297) shall pay a fee of 115.00
CARPENTRY and MILLWORK CONTRACTORS 77.65
CEMENT, LIME, PLASTERING, STUCCO, LATHING
and CAST STONE CONTRACTORS 77.65
DECORATORS, INTERIOR and EXTERIOR,
including Painting, Waterproofing, Damp-
proofing and Paper Hanging Contractors;
Excluding, however, INTERIOR DECORATORS
furnishing and installing draperies,
shades, rugs, etc. , (whose occupational
license fee is provided for elsewhere in
this ordinance) 77.65
ELEVATOR CONTRACTORS 77.65
ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS (includes Bridge, bulk-
heading, drainage, and sewer excavating, and
sewer construction, dredging, pile driving,
bulkheading and seawalls, sidewalks and street
grading and paving, sidewalk and similar con-

FLOORING, SANDING CONTRACTORS
(Including Wood, Rubber, Composition,
Linoleum and other flooring not otherwise

SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

OF SUCH PRIVILEGES OR CARRYING ON SUCH BUSINESSES, OCCUPATIONS OR PRO-

SIONS THEREOF'", having been passed and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three con-
spicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 6th day of October, A. D. 1949, and
that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least thirty
days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter of the said
City of Miami Beach.
