AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 765 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF MIAMI BEACH CITY LIBRARY; PRE-
SCRIBING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD,
THE MANNER OF APPOINTMENT OF ITS MEMBERS, THE
LENGTH OF TERMS OF SERVICE OF ITS MEMBERS;
REQUIRING AN ANNUAL BUDGET OF SAID BOARD, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES"
BE IT 0_iDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1:
amended to
SECTION 2:
That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 765 of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby
read as follows:
"Section 2. That said Board of Trustees shall
consist of seven (7) members, who
shall be appointed by the City Manager by and
with the approval of the City Council, and of
the first Board of Trustees, two members shall
be appointed for terms to expire on September
30th, 1947; two members shall be appointed for
terms to expire on September 30th, 191+8; one
member shall be appointed for a term to expire
on September 30th, 1949; and the remaining two
members shall be appointed for terms to expire
on September 30th, 1950. At the expiration of
the terms as herein set forth, the successors
of the members of said first Board shall be
appointed by the City IMianager by and with the
approval of the City Council for terms of four
) years each. All members of said Board shall
be residents of the City of Miami Beach, Florida.
Any vacancy on said Board caused by death, resig-
nation, removal or otherwise, shall be filled by
the said City Manager by and with the approval
of said City Council for the balance of the unex-
pired term of the person, the termination of
whose office shall have caused the vacancy. The
City Council may at any time upon recommendation
of the City Manager, for any cause or reason satis-
factory to it, by a five -sevenths (5/7) vote of
its members, remove any member of said Board of
Trustees."
That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

by me in three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, one of which was at
