AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 271 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED: "AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF TEE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, DEFINING CERTAIN OF-
FENCES AND FIXING THE PE;NALTIES
THEREOF. "
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 53 of Ordinance No. 271 of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as follows:
"SECTION 53: It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to carry on any business of
any nature whatsoever in the streets or alleys of
the City of Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida,
without the consent of the owner whose property
abuts on the street or alley, and unless such
business shall be conducted in a place or part of
the street or alley designated by police order. "
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 53: It shall be unlawful for any person
while in or on any public street, avenue or alley,
or any park, beach, structure, building or other
property or place owned, maintained or operated by
the City of Miami Beach for public use, to sell,
rent or offer for sale or rent to the public, any
article, commodity er service of any nature what-
soever, other than newspapers of general circulation
duly entered in the Post Office Department of the
United. States ; provided, however, that this section
shall not apply to employees of the City acting for
and on behalf of the City, or to persons specifi-
cally authorized to render service to the public in
any place or places above described, by the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach. "
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

ORDINANCE NO. 271 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DEFINING CERTAIN OFFENCES AND
FIXING THE PENALTIES THEREOF' "', having been passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at
the door of the City Hall in said City on the 4th day
of April, A. O. 1951, and that said Ordinance remained
posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance
with the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of
Miami Beach.

on this the 7th day of June, 1951.
