AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289
COMMONLY KNOWN AS "THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF ThE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA" .
BE IT ORDAINFD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 289 of Miami Beach,
Florida, be and the same is '.ereby amended to read
as follows :
"SECTION 8: USE REGULATIONS "BB" BUSINESS DISTRICT
In the "BE" Business District no building; or land shall
be used andno building shall be hereafter erected, con-
structed, reconstructed, or structurally altered which
is designed, arranged or intendedto be occupied or used
for any purpose, unless otherwise provided for in this
ordinance, excepting for one or more of the following
uses:
1. Any use permitted in the "bill' business District .
2. (Item eliminated) (427)
3. Public storage, garages .
4. Pressing, clubs .
5. Storage warehouses .
6. "onservatories .
7. Printing shops.
8. Retail plumbing stores and shops.
9. Service stations, only upon the approval and pppermit
by the City Council of Miami Leach, Florida.
10. Awning stores.
11. Employment agencies .
12. Retail bakeries doing baking on the premises, pro-
vided such retail bakeries comply with the follow-
ing requirements :
a. Ovens used shall oe limited to either two
Blodgett ovens, or one revolving oven not to
exceed sixteen pans capacity, or equivalent ;
b. Adjoining properties shall be safeguarded and
protected from obnoxious exhaust fan noises
and odors ;
c. All machinery shall be entirely confinedwithin
the main structure;
d. Operation shall be limited to those hours ue-
tween 6:00 A.TT. and 8:00 P.M.
13. Retail electric andrepair shops.
14. Fish markets , only upon approval and permit of the
City Council of the City of Miami beach, Florida. ( 306-333)
15. Auction sales shall be permitted, only upon approval
and permit Pf the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, in any portion of the "BB" Business District
which lies south of the northerly line of Eighth
Street in said City of Miami beach. ( 641)

16. Bowling alleys in air conditioned and sound proofed
rooms, only upon approval and permit of the City
Council of Miami Beach, Florida. (842)
17. Automatic service restaurants where service is pro-
vided for at tables and./or automobiles on private
property without transporting food or drinks by
waiters, waitresses or carhops from the kitchen or
place of preparation to the customers , only upon
approval and permit of the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida.
or any other similar enterprises or cusinesses , which
are not more obnoxious or detrimental to the welfare of
the particular community than the enterprises or busi-
nesses herein enumerated. "
SECTION 2: That this ordinance go into effect immediately upon
its passage and posting as required by law.

of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in
three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which
was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 8th day of
June, A. D. 1951, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a
period of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements
of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
