ORDINANCE NO. 984
AN ORDINANCE A,r"r1\TDING SECTION 6.2 OF "THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
1950".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLOR IDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 6.2 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, 1950" be and the same is hereby amended to read
• as follows :
"Sec. 6.2 SALARY SCHR;17[TLE OF ADMINISTRATIVE OFE'IC S.
A schedule of rates of salaries for the administrative
officers of the city is hereby established as follows:
(a) City Engineer Salary per month X835.00
(b) City Clerk Salary per month 835.00
( c) Shop and ater
Superintendent Salary per month 555.00
(a) Police Chief Salary per month . 676.00
•(e) fire Chief • Salary per month 527.00
( f) Tax Assessor . Salary per month 627.00
(g) Chief Building
Inspector Salary per month 517.00 •
(h) !general Recreation
Officer Salary per month 495.00
( i) Beach Patrol Captain Salary per month 517.00
( f) Municipal Judge Salary per month 517.00

( 1) Golf' Course Manager
(Normandy Isle) Salary per month 495.00

Together with a monthly allowance to
City Attorney for secretarial assis-
tance in the sum of • 330.00

said City Attorney for two assistants
in the sum of 1,200.00
(o) Director of Personnel Salary per month 370.00
Provided, however, that where a member
of the classified service is appointed
to the office of personnel director
and performs the functions and duties
thereof on a part time basis in addi-
tion to the performance of t he duties
of his position in the classified ser-
vice, he shall receive, in addition to
his salary in the classified service, a
salary per month as -'ersonnel director
of 100.00

Notwithstanding the schedules, rates, salaries and allow-
ances in this section hereinbefore set forth, there shall
be paid to each employee whose payment of salary is au-
thorized by this section, as increased cost of living
compensation, an additional salary or allowance based
upon the following provision:
a. There shall be added to the computed pay for each
employee on a monthly rate, ten dollars U10.00)
for each half month period, less eighty cents
U.80) for each normal work day in that period
for which no compensation is paid.
The additional compensation thus Provided for shall be
a.pilicable to all payments of salary and allowances paid
for services rendered on and after Cctober 1st , 1950. "
SECTION 2: All ordinances or narts of ordinances .n conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and Posting as required by law.

City of Miami Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that Ordinance
No. 984, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6.2 OF
'THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950' ", having
been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 16th day of August, A.D.
1951, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of
at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of
the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 1st day of October, A. D. 1951.
