Ordinance 1005 ORDINANCE NO. 1005
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 35.32 OF "THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950" .
' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 35.32 of " The Code of the City of
Miami '.Beach, Florida, 1950" be and the same is
hereby amended to read as follows: '
"SECTION 35.32 RATES - ESTABLISHED.
Any person operating or controlling a taxicab
within the meaning of this article, shall, for
each separate and distinct period of employment,
make charges based upon rates as follows:
( a) Thirty cents for the first one-third of one
mile, or any part thereof, and ten cents for each
additional one-third of one mile, or any part
thereof.
(b) For each two minutes of time, or any part
thereof, in which any taxicab shall be stopped and
not in motion, for any reason whatsoever other than
on account of the inefficiency of such taxicab or
the operator thereof, a charge of ten cents shall
be made .
( c) For any trip beginning at any point within the
City li'its of Miami Beach to any airport in the
Greater Miami area, the charge shall be computed on
the basis of the rates herein set out in subsections
( a) and (b) of this section provided, however, such
charge shall not exceed the sum of three dollars and
fifty cents .
( d) No additional charge shall be made for the
transportation of luggage or baggage and the rates
set forth in this section shall apply regardless of
the number of passengers carried."

SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon
its passage and posting as required by law.

No. 1005, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 35.32 OF
'THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950' " , having
been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 16th day of January, A.D.
1952, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of
at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the
City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
