AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 678 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF
SALARIES TO BE PAID TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE
OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AND FIXING THE RATES THEREOF. "
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 678 of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"SECTION 1: A schedule of rates of salaries for the
administrative officers of the City is
hereby established as follows :
A. City Engineer Salary per month S 835.00
B. City Clerk Salary per month 835.00
C. Shop and Water Superintendent Salary per month 625.00
D. Police Chief Salary per month 676.00
E. Fire Chief Salary per month 527.00
F. Tax Assessor Salary per month 627.00
G. Chief Building Inspector Salary per month 600.00
H. General Recreation Officer Salary per month 520.00
I. Beach Patrol Captain Salary per month 517.00
J. flunicipal Judge Salary per month 517.00
K. Associate Municipal Judge Salary per month 250.00
L. Golf Course Manager
(Normandy Isle) Salary per month 495.00
Golf Course Manager
(Bay Shore) Salary per month 495.00
M. City Manager Salary per month 1,306.00
N. City Attorney Salary per month 1,000.00
Together with a monthly
allowance to City Attorney
for secretarial assistance
in the sum of 350.00
AND
together with a monthly
allowance to City Attorney
for two assistants in the
sum of 1,200.00

Notwithstanding the schedules, rates, salaries and
allowances in this section hereinbefore set forth,
there shall be paid to each employee whose payment
of salary is authorized by this section, as increased
cost of living compensation, an additional salary
or allowance based upon the following provision:
a. There shall be added to the computed pay for
each employee on a monthly rate, Seventeen
and 50/100 ($17.50) dollars for each half
month period, less one and 40/100 ($1.40)
dollars for each normal work day in that
period for which no compensation is paid.
The additional compensation thus provided for shall be
applicable to all payments of salary and allowances
paid for services rendered on and after October 1st,
1951. '
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall go into effect as of February
1, 1952.

THEREOF' " , having been passed and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in
three conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of
which was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 7th
day of February, A.D. 1952, and that said Ordinance remained
posted for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with
the requirements of the City Charter of the said City of Miami
Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 19th day of March, A.D. 1952.
