AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 592
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "MIAMI BEACH BUILD-
ING CODE" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That Chapter 2 of Part II of Ordinance No. 592,
commonly known as "The Miami Beach Building Code ",
be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto, immediately
after Sub-section 1 .02.02.08 thereof, an additional Sub-section
to be known as Sub-section 1.02.02.09, and to read as follows :
"09. Sandblasting, shotcreting, buffing, painting, or
other air pressure actuated operations outside or
inside of any building or structure . "
SECTION 2 : That Chapter 30 of Part VII of Ordinance No. 592,
commonly known as "The Miami Beach Building Code ",
be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto, immediately
after Sub-section 7 .30.22.03 thereof, an additional Section to
be known as Section 7.30.23 and to read as follows :
" .01 Mechanical or hand abrasive operations involving
removal of paint, rust or other materials from
any source resulting in particles that can float, drop
or be blown to adjoining property or into public ways or
streets; and other processes involving use of air pres-
sure for general application, such as shotcreting, blown
insulation, decorative flocking, painting or other simi-
lar operations shall be enclosed with canvas or in other
suitable manner to confine all loose particles and abras-
ives with suitable means of transferring all such loose
particles and abrasives to the ground.
.02 All sandblasting shall be by the wet method, with
sufficient water used to prevent flying particles
of abrasives or removed materials .
.03 Water sources used in connection with any pneumatic
removal or application process shall be arranged
so as to prevent any possible pollution of the City water
system. "
SECTION 3: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repeaJd
.SCTION 14 : That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

1060, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 592,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE 'MIAMI BEACH BUILDING CODE' ", having
been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach; one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 10th day of June, A. D.
1953, and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period
of at least thirty days in accordance with the requirements of
the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 5th day of August, A. D. 1953.
