Ordinance 1026ORDINANCE HO. 1026 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.16 OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 02 THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That that portion of Section 17.16 of "The Code of the City of Miami Peach, Florida, 1950" reading as follows: "MUSIC BOXES, MECHANICAL PHONOGRAPHS, CONSOLES OR JUKE BOXES, each machine . . V77.65 Provided, however, that where such music box, mechanical phonograph, console or juke box is operated by coin -receiving remote control record selectors, an additional fee indicated herein shall be paid for each such remote control selector unit or device used in connection with such music box, mechanical phonograph, console or juke box . be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "MUSIC BOXES, MECHANICAL PHONOGRAPHS, CONSOLES, JULE BOXES, OR OTHER SIMI- LAR MACHINES: Every person, firm or corporation, selling, leasing or renting one or more music boxes, mechanical phonographs, consoles, juke boxes, or other similar machines, alone or in con- nection with any other business shall, as a pre -requisite, be required to pay a license fee as follows: 5.00" The applicant desiring to sell, lease or rent one or more music boxes, mechanical phonographs, consoles, juke boxes, or other similar machines, alone or in connection with any other business, shall file with the License Department, in per- son if a natural person, or by a duly authorized agent or officer of the firm or corporation, a written application for a license to do busi- ness in the City. Such license shall issue to the applicant and shall entitle the applicant to engage in the selling, leasing or renting of not more than twenty-five (25) music boxes, mechanical phonographs, consoles, juke boxes, or other similar machines, alone or in connection with any other business upon the payment of a license fee of ; 500.00 For selling, leasing or renting each additional five (5) or fractional part thereof of such music boxes, mechanical phonographs; consoles, juke boxes, or other similar machines there shall be paid an additional license fee of . . 100.00 -1- OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY - CITY HALL - MIAMI BEACH 39, FLORIDA In addition to the foregoing there shall be imposed upon each music box, mechanical phonograph, console, juke box or other similar machine, a license fee of 30.00 Provided, however, that where such music box, mechanical phonograph, console, juke box, or other simil ar machine, is operated by coin -receiving remote control record selectors, there shall be paid for each such remote control selector unit or device used in connection with such music box, mechanical phonograph, console, juke box or similar machine, an additional license fee of SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and posting as required by law.
