AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 289
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Sub -section 3 of Section 17 of Ordinance No. 289
of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same
is hereby amended by adding thereto at the end there-
of, the following:
"i. Horizontal and vertical projecting signs, as defined
in Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, 1950, and subject to the provisions thereof, may
project into yard areas which abut on streets, alleys or
waterways, a distance not to exceed 2 Our (L) feet; and in
the "RE" Multiple Family District One (1) pole sign, as
defined in said Chapter 32 of the Code of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, 1950, and subject to the provisions
thereof, not exceeding Eleven (11) feet, Six (6) inches in
height, may be erected in each of such yard areas.
Signs consisting of open letters, setting forth only the
name of the building, not exceeding thirty (30) inches in
height may be erected on covered drive -ways, and not ex-
ceeding eighteen (18) inches in height may be erected on
covered walk -ways, as such covered drive -ways and walk-
ways are provided for in Sub -paragraph "e" of this Sub-
section. Provided, however, that the height of such signs
shall not be included in the computation of the over-all
height of the covered drive -ways and walk -ways."
SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

No. 1013, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
289 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, COMMONLY KNOWN
AS THE 'ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA'",
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three
conspicuous places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which
was at the door of the City Hall in said City on the 21st day
of February, A.D. 1952, and that said Ordinance remained posted
for a period of at least thirty days in accordance with the
requirements of the City Charter of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the official seal of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
on this the 31st day of March, A.D. 1952.
