Ordinance 1202 ORDINANCE NO. 1202
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11
OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That Chapter 11 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, 1950" be and the same is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new section numbered Section 11 .1 .1, reading as
follows :
"SECTION 11 .1 .1 : It shall be unlawful for any
person to place or maintain,
or to permit to be placed or maintained, any
showcase, bin, box or container, sign, or other
object, in any door, doorway, entrance, entrance-
way, lobby, vestibule or passageway, used by the
public for ingress or egress, in and to or from
any store or other commercial building or estab-
lishment which, in the event of fire or panic,
may obstruct or impede the prompt exit of occupants
therefrom, or may hinder or interfere with the
operation of fire department personnel or equip-
ment . "
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.

"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 OF 'THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950' ",
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 15th day of February, 1956
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
