AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE
N0. 789 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING OFFICIAL CLASSI-
FICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SER-
VICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
AND PROVIDING COMPENSATION THEREFOR, PURSUANT
TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 789 of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, reading as follows :
"SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized
to approve payments of Clothing Allow-
ance for Detectives, and for other officers of the
uniformed force who are regularly detailed to per-
form their duties in plain clothes, and who are
specifically recommended for such allowance by the
Police Chief . Such Clothing Allowance shall not
exceed Ten ($10.00) Dollars per month."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
"SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized
to approve payments of Clothing Allow-
ance for Detectives , and for other officers of the
uniformed force who are regularly detailed to per-
form their duties in plain clothes, and who are
specifically recommended for such allowance by
the Police Chief. Such Clothing Allowance shall
not exceed Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars per month."
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect October 1,
1956.

having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 4th day of October, 1956,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
