Ordinance 1260 ORDINANCE NO. 1260 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.7, 6.1, 37.97 AND 37.124 OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1950" . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That those portions of Section 2.7 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1950" reading as follows : "B. CITY CLERK 14. Division of collections 15. Division of treasury and accounts 18. Division of legal records" "Z. MANAGER OF METERED PARKING SYSTEM 12-1/2. Parking Meter Division 12-3/4. Traffic Violations Bureau" be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: "B. CITY CLERK 14. Division of collections 15. Division of treasury and accounts 18. Division of legal records 113.1. Parking meter division" -1- OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY - CITY HALL - MIAMI BEACH 39, FLORIDA SECTION 3: That Section 37.97 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1950" reading as follows: "Sec. 37,97. (a) The manager of the metered parking system shall manage the entire metered parking system, including on-street and off- street parking. (b) The manager of the metered parking system shall supervise the collections, meter installations and removals, meter maintenance and repairs, meter stores, the equipment and vehicles used in connection with the metered parking system, and shall supervise the enforcement of the provisions of this Code governing the use of the parking meters by the public. (c) The manager of the metered parking system shall receive and account for all moneys collected by the traffic violations bureau, including fines, bonds, forfeitures and auto inspection fees, and shall supervise all employees in the traffic violations bureau. (d) The manager of the metered parking system shall perform such other duties in connection with the supervision of the operation of the metered parking system of the City as the City Manager may direct." be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 37.97. (a) The manager of the metered parking system shall manage the entire metered parking system, including on-street and off-street parking. SECTION 4: That that portion of Section 37.124. of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1950" reading as follows: " (A) A traffic violations bureau is hereby established to assist the court in connection with the clerical work of traffic cases. The bureau shall be in charge of the manager of the metered parking system, and shall be open at such hours as the City Manager may designate. The personnel of such bureau shall be selected in the manner provided by the Civil Service Act, with the manager of the metered parking system the appointing officer thereof. " be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows : -2- OFFICE OF CITY ATTORNEY - CITY HALL - MIAMI BEACH 39, FLORIDA "(A) A traffic violations bureau is hereby established to assist the municipal court in connection with the clerical work of traffic cases. The bureau shall be open at such hours as the City Manager may designate. The personnel of such bureau shall be selected in the manner provided by the Civil Service Act, with the City Clerk as the appointing officer thereof. The City Clerk shall receive and account for all moneys collected by said bureau, including fines, bonds, forfeitures and auto inspection fees." SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 6: This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon passage and posting as required by law. PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of August, A.D. 1957.
