AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 .18 .02 .01 OF
CHAPTER 18 OF "THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA" .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 5 .18.02 .01 of Chapter 18 of "The Building
Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida", be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
''5.18.02 .01 Buildings or parts of buildings classed in Group "G"
CONSTRUC- because of use or character of Occupancy shall conform

Provided, however, that on all lots fronting on the
ocean, no building shall be erected to a height in
excess of thirty (30) feet, except that for each
foot of the combined total number of feet that the
building sets back from the established bulkhead line
and from the northerly property line of such lot, or
from the northerly line of any public street or way
which abuts on the northerly property line of such
lot, one-half (2) foot may be added to the thirty-(30)-
foot height limit herein specified, provided, however,
that the maximum height hereinabove established shall
not be exceeded.
NOTE: For the purpose of determining allowable floor areas
and/or exit arrangement, an alley through an entire
block and not less than twenty (20) feet wide may be
considered a street . "
SECTION 2: The health and welfare of the City being in peril, the
three readings of this ordinance shall be had in one
session and the City Council finding that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate protection of its citizens, it shall therefore go
into effect immediately upon its passage .

SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

having been passed and adopted by.the City Council of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 29th day of October, 1958,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of atleast
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
