Ordinance 1356 ORDINANCE NO. 1356
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 12.11.1.
and 12.12 of CHAPTER 12 of "THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 190".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 12.11.1. of L'hapter• 12 of ' The Code of
the City of Miami Beach, Florida, 1950" be and the
same is hereby amended by adding thereto immediately following
the last paragraph thereof, the following:
"Groynes and sun deck piers may be co struc-
ted or erected easterly of the hereinabove
described harbor line to a distance into
the ocean, of not more than 200 feet from
such line, and such sun deck piers shall not
be more than 18 feet in height above mean
low water, anything in this chapter to the
contrary notwithstanding. Except for such
groynes and sun deck piers , no bulkhead or
other structures thall be constructed or
erected, which shall be easterly of such
line ."
SECTION 2. That that portion of Section 12.12 of Chapter 12
of " The Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
1950" , reading as follows :
"That no bulkhead or other structure,
except groynes shall be constructed or
erected which shall be easterly of the
line described in any of the Sections
of this article."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
"That no bulkhead or other structure,
except groynes shall be constructed or
erected which shall be easterly of the
line described in any of the Sections
of this article, except as otherwise
provided therein."
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall go into effect imme-
diately upon its passage and posting as
required by law.

places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of
the City Hall in said City on the 19th day of August, 1959,
and that said Ordinance remained postedfor a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
