Resolution 1051 mew New mew RESOLUTION NO. 1051 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MAT- TER Or THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $1,355,000.00, FOR THE VARIOUS PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLU- TION STATED. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the municipal pur oses set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLvED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly regis- tered and lualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, participati4( in the election which is herein called, the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, .ri'lorida, shall be issued in the amounts s and for the several purposes set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution. Section 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from 8 o' clock A. M. , until sundown on the 31st day of July, A. D. , 1925, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, the ten separate questions as to whether the bonds Lientioned in each separate question shall be authorized, which ten questions are set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution. Section 3. That the City Clerk who is also supervisor of registra- tion, open the registration books of said City from 10 o' clock A. M. , until 5 o' clock P. H. , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until July 21st, 1925, for the purpose of registering those persons who are 111 qualified to register for such election. Section 4. That Joseph Monfils, M. H. Farr and John L. Grist be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and Ethel Stephenson is hereby appointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said election at the time and place aforesaid which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. Section 5. That said Inspectors and Ulerk shall certify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. Section 6. That thirty days notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City by posting or causing to be posted, the not ice hereinafter provided for at least thirty days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in said City to- wit, the City Hall, at the Post Office and at Hardie' s Casino, and by publishing the same once each week for thirty days in the Miami Daily News and IMetropolis, a newspaper published in the City of Miami, Florida, and of general circulation in said City of Miami Beach, there being no newspaper published in said City of Miami Beach. Section 7. That said notice of election shall be in substan- tially the following form: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, .h'lorida, and will be held at the City Hall in said City on the 31st day of July, A. D. , 1925 , at which there will be submitted to the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City the following questions: (a) Shall the City of Miami Beach, r'lorida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of X188,000 for the purpose of constructing a building, the laying of a discharge drain, the installation of a pump and equipment all for the operation of a plant for neutralizing and disposing of sewage? J i __ _ (b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4134,000 for the purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of constructing sanitary sewers? (e) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 466,000 for the purpose of paying the City' s share of the cost of constructing storm sewers? ( d) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable cJupon bonds in the sum of 4150,000 for the purpose of extending and developing its water works system? I r ( e) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $76,000 for the purpose of constructing three bridges across Collins Canal, a waterway within said City? ( f) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 416,000 for the purpose of paving its streets? (g) shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 420,000 for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks. (h) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 415,000 for the purpose of constructing a wharf or dock for its sanitary department? ( i) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4300,000 for the purpose of constructing groins or jetties for protecting the water front on the Atlantic Ocean in said City against actions of the sea? ( j) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4390,000 for the purpose of constructing a City Mall and a machine shop and warehouse for the water and sewer departments? 116 Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place. The registration books will be open from 10 o' clock A. M. , until 5 o' clock I'. M. , each day Sunday excepted, from this date aiitil July 21st, 1925, for the registration of persons qualified to register for said election. LOUIS F. (Here shall be inserted all of the propositions set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution and at the end or immediately after each proposition as set forth, there shall be printed a short line ( ) followed by the word.
