AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 88-2603
BEING THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR
UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES AND ELECTED
OFFICIALS BY AMENDING ARTICLE 7, SECTION
7.02 PROVIDING THAT THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES SHALL CONSIST OF NINE (9)
PERSONS TO BE APPOINTED BY THE CITY
MANAGER; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PASSAGE
AS AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO GO INTO
EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Article 7, Section 7 . 02 , of Ordinance No. 88-
2603 is hereby amended to read as follows:
7 . 02 The Board shall consist of eeverr-t-} nine (9) persons,
each of whom shall be designated as a trustee. The members of
the Board shall be as follows:
(a) One (1) City Commissioner appointed by the City
Manager.
(b) St-{-6.} Eight (8) appointed by the City Manager.
(c) A quorum shall consist of three (3) persons.
(d) Each trustees shall serve on the Board for a term of two
years.
SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance is declared invalid, or unconstitutional by any court
of competent jurisdiction, then said holding shall in no way
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall go into effect as an
emergency measure immediately upon its passage.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of May , 1988 AS
AN EMERGENCY MEASURE.
