AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
789 BEING THE CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES SALARY
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, CREATING A NEW CLASSIFICATION
OF ENGINEERING INSPECTOR; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the following line be added in alphabetical sequence to Section 1,
Group IV, of Ordinance No. 789 which reads as follows:
GROUP IV: MIAMI BEACH EMPLOYEES BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION
BI-WEEKLY COMPENSATION
JOB CLASSIFICATION JOB CLASS NO. MINIMUM MAXIMUM
ENGINEERING INSPECTOR 3107 962.47 1,125.96
SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall become effective 10 days after adoption on
April 29, , 1989.

SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CLASSIFIED SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 789
Attached, for your approval and adoption, is an amendment to Classified
Salary Ordinance No. 789 establishing a new classification of ENGINEERING
INSPECTOR.
The creation of this classification will provide for consistent job
classification titles, job specifications, and job duties among all inspectors in
the Building Department. Currently, the City is utilizing an Engineering
Assistant II to perform engineering inspections.
The Engineering Inspector classification and job specifications were approved
by the Personnel Board on December 16, 1988.
SOURCE OF FUNDS:
No cost will be incurred as this classification will be filled by the lateral
transfer of a current Engineering Assistant II presently performing
engineering inspections.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adoption by the City Commission.
