Ordinance 89-2656 ORDINANCE NO. 89-2656 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 789 BEING THE CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ABOLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF CONVENTION CENTER SUPERVISOR; ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF AIR CONDITIONING/ELECTRICAL SUPERVISOR, CONVENTION CENTER SUPERVISOR I AND CONVENTION CENTER SUPERVISOR II; AMENDING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF CONVENTION CENTER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC; AND CHANGING THE TITLE OF PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR TO PARK OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Pa 'ns A/h It City Manager ,. lir SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMEN IMENT TO CLASS1FI1i.D SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 789 Attached, for your approval and adoption, is an amendment to Classified Salary Ordinance No. 789 abolishing the classification of Convention Center Supervisor; establishing the classifications of Air Conditioning/Electrical Supervisor, Convention Center Supervisor I, and Convention Center Supervisor II; amending the compensation for Convention Center Maintenance Mechanic; and changing the title of Park Maintenance Supervisor to Park Operations Supervisor. These changes were requested by the Convention Center Director and the Parks and Recreation Director and approved by the Personnel Director and by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees and the Personnel Board, where applicable. Effecting these changes would provide for appropriate and consistent job classification titles, specifications. and salary ranges among supervisors I and II and among operations supervisors within the City and will facilitate the reorganization of the Convention Center and the Parks and Recreation Department.
