AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
789 BEING THE CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES SALARY
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION
OF STABLE WORKER; AMENDING THE
COMPENSATION FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF
TREE MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the following line be added to Section 1, Group I, of Ordinance No.
789:
GROUP I: AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL
EMPLOYEES
BI-WEEKLY COMPENSATION
JOB CLASSIFICATION JOB CLASS NO. MINIMUM MAXIMUM
STABLE WORKER 5019 642.96 723.66
SECTION 2: That the following line in Section 1, Group I, of Ordinance No.
789 which read as follows:

shall be amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3: That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: If any section, subsection, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held
invalid, the remainder shall not be affected by such invalidity.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall become effective 10 days after adoption on
February 17, , 1990.

SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CLASSIFIED SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 789
Attached, for your approval and adoption, is an amendment to Classified
Salary Ordinance No. 789 establishing the classification of Stable Worker; and
amending the compensation for Tree Maintenance Supervisor.
These respective changes were requested by the Chief of Police and the
Parks and Recreation Director and approved by the Personnel Director and
the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees and the
Personnel Board, where applicable.
The establishment of a Stable Worker classification would provide an
appropriate and consistent job classification title and specification for an
individual currently performing such duties.
Amending the compensation for Tree Maintenance Supervisor would provide
for an appropriate pay range consistent with the level of job duties and
supervisory responsibilities.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
Adoption by the City Commission.
