AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 10.2 of Chapter 10 of the Code of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, be and the same is
hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 2.
SECTION 3.
"Sec. 10.2. Qualifications of voters.
Any person 18 years of age or any person who
will atter in the age of 18 years prior to the
next succeeding City election, and who shall
possess the qualifications requisite to being a
qualified voter at general state elections and
shall have resided in the City six months next
preceding the general election herein provided
for and shall have registered in the registration
books of the City as hereinafter provided shall be
a qualified elector of the City. No persons under
guardian, idiotic or insane, convicted of a felony
or of bribery, perjury or larceny or of any infamous
crime or being interested in any bet or wager, the
result of which shall depend on any election, or of
fighting a duel or of sending or knowing the carry-
ing or accepting of a challenge to fight a duel, or
being a second to either party to a duel and not
restored to civil rights, shall be qualified to vote
in any such general election."
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.
The adoption of the above and foregoing ordinance was
moved by the Honorable Jay Dermer,, Mayor.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 16th day of September, 1971,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
