AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 10 of the Code of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, be and the same is hereby amended
by adding a new section thereto to follow immediately after
Section 10.3, to be numbered and to read as follows:
"Sec. 10.3.1. Students permitted to vote
absentee, if otherwise
qualified.
Any qualified elector of the City of Miami
Beach, including any person 18 years of age
or any person who will attain the age of 18
years prior to the next succeeding City election
and who is a qualified elector of the City of
Miami Beach and who will be absent from Dade
County during the entire period the polls are
open for voting on the day of any City election,
and cannot without manifest inconvenience vote in
person because of his attendance, as a duly regis-
tered student, at any duly accredited school,
college or university, shall be permitted to obtain
and cast absentee ballots in the same manner for
the casting of absentee ballots by persons who will
be absent from Dade County on election day, as pro-
vided by Chapter 101, Florida Statutes."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall go into effect immediately
upon its passage and posting as required by law.
The adoption of the above and foregoing ordinance was
moved by the Honorable Jay Dermer, Mayor.

Ordinance No. 1894 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door
of the City Hall in said City on the 16th day of September, 1971,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and
