Ordinance 1899ORDINANCE NO. 1899 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Chapter 25 of "The Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida" be, and the same is, hereby a- mended by adding a new section thereto, to be numbered and to read as follows: SECTION 2. SECTION 3. Attest: "Section 25.94.1 The accumulation of seaweed, trash, garbage or refuse of whatsoever nature landward of the mean highwater line on riparian lands on the Atlantic Ocean is hereby found, de- clared and deemed a nuisance, detrimental to the health, convenience, comfort and safety of the public, and the creation or maintenance of such a nuisance is hereby declared to be unlawful, and the failure or refusal of the owner or party in possession of such upland property to prevent or to remove such accumu- lation of seaweed, trash, garbage or refuse is also hereby declared to be unlawful. The Public Works Director is empowered, after reasonable notice to the owner or person in possession of such lands, to remove such sea- weed, trash, garbage or refuse at the expense of the owner or possessor thereof and to impose liens against said lands and to enforce the same as other liens are enforced." All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and posting as required by law.
