Ordinance 1906ORDINANCE NO. 1906 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FACILITIES TO PROTECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH BY PROVIDING EMERGENCY SERVICE WITH A DULY LICENSED PHYSICIAN TO ACCOMPANY ALL AMBULANCE CALLS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That there is a pressing need for the City of Miami Beach to provide facilities to protect the health, safety and welfare of its citizens, and that such need can be met in part by the providing of Emergency Service with a duly licensed physician to accompany all ambulance calls. SECTION 2: That all calls for emergency treatment of persons of Miami Beach shall be responded to by such emergency squad as may be provided, with a licensed physician to be a part of such emergency squad. SECTION 3: That there shall be included and provided on vehicles responding to emergency calls adequate lifesaving equipment to treat emergency heart patients and to evaluate the condition of such heart patients. SECTION 4: That adequate equipment shall be acquired by the City of Miami Beach, and adequate personnel shall be employed or contracted with to accomplish the lifesaving service necessary for emergency treatment of persons on Miami Beach. SECTION 5: That all funds necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance shall be made available out of emergency funds and/or from the regular budget of the City of Miami Beach. SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 7: This ordinance shall become effective on February 1, 1972. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, pursuant to the vote of the constituent electors of the City of Miami Beach at a special election held on November 2, 1971 in accordance with the provisions of Section 26 of the Charter of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and pursuant to the Election Laws of the City of Miami Beach,Florida.
