AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 44-27A OF THE
CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
PROVIDING FOR A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED
AND FIFTY DOLLARS ($250) TO BE ASSESSED
AGAINST VIOLATORS OR MAXIMUM AMOUNT PERMITTED
BY STATE LAW; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE. (Handicapped Parking)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 44-27A of the Miami Beach City Code is
hereby amended:
Section 44-27A. Prohibition of parking or stopping in
parking spaces designated for the use of the physically
handicapped.
The parking or stopping of motor vehicles in off-
street parking spaces, owned, operated , leased or
licensed by the City of Miami Beach and designated for
the use of the physically handicapped, except those
displaying a motor vehicle license plate issued by the
Department of Motor Vehicles and displaying the
internationally accepted wheelchair symbol, handicapped
parking permit or disabled veteran motor vehicle license
plate is prohibited .
Persons convicted of violating this section shall
be subject to a fine of net less than ene hundred
dellars two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) or maximum
amount as permitted by State law.
Vehicles parked in violation hereof shall, at the
direction of the City of Miami Beach Police Department,
be removed by a person regularly engaged in the business
of towing vehicles.
SECTION 2: REPEALER
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY
If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or
word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining
provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
SECTION 4: EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall take effect 10 days after its adoption, on
September 28 , 1985 .
