The purpose of this Letter to the Commission (LTC) is to inform the Commission of a
motion passed by the Mayor's North Beach Committee at their October 5, 2017 meeting.
Members Present: Margueritte Ramos (Chair), Betsy Perez, Kirk Paskal, Carolina
Jones, Suzanne Torriente (non-voting member) and Daniel Veitia
Members Absent: Nancy Liebman, Brad Bonessi
MOTION: to request that the Transportation Department evaluate crosswalk
signal timing to accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic from Tatum
Waterway Drive to Collins Avenue on 81 st Street.

MOTION: to request that the Commission, as a temporary fix, paint and remove
the "pipes to nowhere" on the 71st street bridge until the design improvements
get approved by FDOT.

MOTION: to urge the City Commission to support a pop up Skate Park in the
"West Lot" immediately north of the North Beach Yard location. Due to
pedestrian safety and because it further supports civic/recreational use as
recommended in the Master Plan, we believe this is the best location for this
amenity.

MOTION: to urge the City Commission to issue an RFLI to manage the yearly
programming at the Normandy Circle Fountain to insure success.

MOTION: to urge the City Commission to extend the First Fridays Program to a
weekly program during the Rue Vendome 90 Day Pilot Closure throughout the
holiday season.

MOTION: to urge the City Commission open up the street performer program to
allow street performs at Fountain Plaza and waive all permit fees during the Rue

improvement organization in North Beach.
