AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 , SECTION 2-1. 3 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENTITLED "SERVING ON
MORE THAN ONE BOARD OR COMMISSION PROHIBITED" TO PROVIDE
THAT THIS SECTION SHALL NOT APPLY TO CITY EMPLOYEES WHO ARE
APPOINTED OR ELECTED TO CITY BOARDS OR COMMITTEES WHICH
PERTAIN TO CITY PERSONNEL OR CITY PENSION FUNDS ; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: THAT CHAPTER 2 ; SECTION 2-1. 3 OF THE CITY CODE IS
AMENDED BY THE ADDITION OF THE FOLLOWING:
SECTION 2-1. 3 . : Serving on more than one board or commission
prohibited.
This section shall not apply to City employees who are
appointed or elected to City boards or committees which pertain
to City personnel or City pension funds.
SECTION 2 : REPEALER. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION SEVERABILITY. If any >ection subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is, for any reason,
held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct

and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the _
validity of remaining portions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4 : EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall take effect ten
days after its adoption on October 17 , 1987 .
