A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA REQUESTING THAT THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY
AND THE METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT INSTAll THREE (3) STOP SIGNS ON THE PORTION
OF NORTH BAY ROAD BETWEEN FIFTY-THIRD STREET (53RD) AND
SIXTY-THIRD STREET (63RD), MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Upper North Bay Road Homeowners Association on May 23, 1996, passed
a Resolution requesting the City of Miami Beach and Metropolitan Dade County to install three (3)
stop signs at the above mentioned locations; and
WHEREAS, current conditions along North Bay Road present dangers to pedestrians due to
speeding cars; and
WHEREAS, the installation of three (3) stop signs at the above mentioned locations will help
to prevent speeding cars and thus protect pedestrians.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City of Miami Beach hereby requests the Board of County Commissioners
of Metropolitan Dade County and the Metropolitan Dade County Public Works Department to install
three (3) stop signs on the portion of North Bay Road between fifty-third street (53rd) and sixty-third
street (63rd), Miami Beach, Florida.

RESOLUTION REQUESTING DADE COUNTY TO
INSTALL STOP SIGNS ON NORTH BAY ROAD
The attached letter dated June 5, 1996, from the Upper North Bay Road Homeowners
Association (NBRHA) requests, pursuant to a resolution passed by the NBRHA on May 23,
1996, that the City install three stop signs along with North Bay Road between 53rd Street and
63rd Street. The NBRHA is concerned with the safety of pedestrians along this portion of
North Bay Road and feel the installation of stop signs will alleviate the speeding problem.
The attached Resolution petitions the Dade County Commission and Dade County
Public Works Department to install three (3) stop signs along North Bay Road between 53rd
Street and 63rd Street.
