ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION Adopt the Resolution. ANALYSIS The Miami Beach Police Athletic League (PAL) has requested permission to use the private vacant lot, located at 775 Dade Boulevard, between Prairie Avenue and Meridian Avenue, for parking of vehicles of persons who will be attending the 2002 Miami International Boat Show, from February 14-19, 2002, and to use the Dade Boulevard swale to place and operate a food concession from February 14-19, 2002. The Miami International Boat Show, like other Special Events, increases the parking problems that occur in the City. The use of this vacant lot for parking for this event would ease the parking and create less of an inconvenience for those citizens who live in the. area. , In addition, the Police Athletic League will: 1. Hire an off-duty police officer to direct traffic for the ingress and egress on Dade Boulevard. 2. Restore the property in the same condition as it was before the use. 3. Obtain a General Liability Certificate of Insurance naming the City as an additional named insured. In addition, PAL requests authorization to operate a food concession stand on the Dade Boulevard swale from February 14-19, 2002. The PAL will obtain any and all necessary permits to operate a food concession stand. It is recommended that the Mayor and City Commission adopt this Resolution to permit PAL to use the properties which will ease the parking problems caused by the Boat Show and raise the much needed funds.
