A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THAT PORTION OF THE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND
THE SOUTH FLORIDA ART CENTER PERTAINING TO THE
COMPLETION OF THE YEAR 19 RENOV A TlqN ACTIVITY;
SAID AMENDMENT EXTENDING THE COMPLETION DATE
FROM DECEMBER 31,1995 TO MARCH 31,1996.
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1995, the Mayor and City Commission approved
Resolution No. 95-21769, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement
between the City and the South Florida Art Center, Inc.(SFAC)which in part, included a
funding allocation for the completion of the Year 19 Renovation Activity by December 31,
1995 (Agreement); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement, SFAC received a total amount of
Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred and 00/100 dollars ($13,500.00) from Federal
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the above stated purpose; and
WHEREAS, the parties now wish to amend the Agreement to extend the
completion date from December 31,1995 to March 31,1996 (Amendment); and
WHEREAS, the Amendment would not affect the total dollar amount of the
SFAC line-item as published in the City's CDBG Year Nineteen (19) Final Statement and
the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Amendment to the Agreement
between the City of Miami Beach and the South Florida Art Center, Inc., amending that
portion of the Agreement pertaining to the completion 0 he Year 19 Renovation Activity.

ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
That the Mayor and City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the Mayor
and City Clerk to execute an Amendment to the Agreement between the City of Miami
Beach and the South Florida Art Center, Inc. amending that portion of the Agreement
pertaining to the completion of the Year 19 Renovation Activity, extending the completion
date from December 31,1995 to March 31,1996.
BACKGROUND:
On October 11, 1995, the City of Miami Beach entered into an agreement with the South
Florida Art Center, Inc. (SFAC) which in part, included the carry-over of federal Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Five
Hundred dollars ($13,500) for the completion of the Year 19 Renovation Activity by
December 31, 1995 (Agreement).
On December 18, 1995 and December 22, 1995, the City received the attached letters
from the SFAC requesting an extension of the completion date in order to complete the
CDBG renovation activity at 924 Lincoln Road. This project has been delayed in part, due
to an injury sustained by the roofing contractor on an unrelated project.
This Amendment to the Agreement will allow the SFAC to complete an existing roofing
contract and comply with the terms of the Agreement.

ANALYSIS:
This Amendment does not affect the total dollar amount of the SF AC line-item as published
in the City's CDBG Year Nineteen (19) Final Statement or the Agreement.
CONCLUSION:
The Administration recommends adoption of the attached Resolution which authorizes the
Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Amendment to the Agreement between the City of
Miami Beach and the South Florida Art Center, Inc. amending that portion of the
Agreement pertaining to the completion of the Year 19 Renovation Activity, extending the
completion date from December 31, 1995 to March 31, 1996.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
This Amendment to the Agreement, dated October 1, 1995, between the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, a municipal corporation having its principal office at 1700
Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, hereinafter referred to as the "City", and
the South Florida Art Center, Inc. (SFAC), hereinafter referred to as the "Provider", is
entered into this 10thdayof January ,1996.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1995, the Mayor and City Commission approved

between the City of Miami Beach and the Provider which, in part, included a funding

NOW, THEREFORE, the Agreement is hereby amended as follows:
1. SECTION I (SCOPE OF SERVICES), page 2, SCOPE B ( SFAC Rehabilitation),
paragraph 1 is amended as follows:
The Provider shall complete the Year 19 CDBG funded project for the rehabilitation
of studio/teaching and showroom space at 924 Lincoln Road by March 31, 1996.
2. SECTION III (TERM OF AGREEMENT), page 9, paragraph 2 is amended as
follows:
This project shall become operational as of October 1, 1995, subject to the approval
of this Agreement by the Mayor and City Commission, and shall be completed by
September 30, 1996; except for the Year 19 Renovation Activity which shall be
completed by March 31, 1996.
3. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement between the City and the Provider
shall remain the same in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEROF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to the
Agreement to be executed by their duly authorized officials on the day first above
indicated.
