A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, TO WAIVE
THE FORMAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCESS AND
AWARD A CONTRACT TO FRANMAR CORPORATION TO
PROVIDE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE DURING THE BOAT
SHOW.
WHEREAS, the Miami Intemational Boat Show opens February 16-21, 1996, at the Miami
Beach Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, the Miami International Boat Show, is one of the largest revenue producing
events held at the Miami Beach Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, in order to accommodate the large volume of patrons who do business and visit
this large annual event; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach does not have adequate parking to accommodate the
multitude of visitors to this annual event: and
WHEREAS, the Administration therefore recommends that the Mayor and City Commission
herein waive the competitive bidding process by a 5/71h vote, and further authorize the
Administration to enter into a contract with Franmar Corporation to provide shuttle bus service
during the boat show.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that competitive bidding is
hereby waived and the Administration is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Franmar
Corporation to provide shuttle bus service during the boat show.
