AUTHORIZATION TO ISSUE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQS) AND REQUEST
FOR PROPOSALS (RFPS)
Currently, the Administration prepares a Commission Memorandum and a Resolution
requesting the City Commission's authorization to issue an RFP/RFQ. Although this
process is not required by the City Code, it was adopted approximately five years ago with
the goal of obtaining input to these documents before issuance. Today, we find that this
process is adding another three to four weeks to the process.
In an effort to expedite the process by which consultants and other professional services
are recommended to you for award, I will provide you via Letter to Commission, all
RFPS/RFQS that are to be issued. This will continue to allow you to have the same input
and recommendation that you have, while expediting the process.
Please advise if additional inforrf~ation is required.
