LTC 44-2002 CITY Of MIAMI BEACH Office of the City Manage Letter to Commission No. To: From: Subject: Mayor David Dermer and Members of the City Commission Jorge M. Gonzalez Date: February 21, 2002 As part of my commitment to focus more on education and outreach of our city ordinances, Neighborhood Services Department has created the attached fact card that provides information on the most common code violations in residential zoned areas. Currently, these fact cards are being distributed at community meetings and each code compliance officer has been given a supply of fact cards to distribute to our residents. This is a wonderful opportunity for our code compliance officers to provide information to our residents on city codes without initiating enforcement action. These infof.~ation cards are a part of the ongoing process to refocus the Citys code compliance efforts. As we move forward with these efforts, the Commission and community will see an improved and more customer fdendly division. In order to be more effective with our educational campaign, we have also produced the fact card in Spanish. Additionally, we will be translating all future educational materials such as, the Resident Guide, to Spanish so all of our residents will have access to our information.
