A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION
• AT 1 HIGH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE
THE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID
CITY IN THE SUM OF :2,654 ,000.00 FOR THE VAR-
IOUS PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED.
WIT-RHEAS the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach , Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City
in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the
election notice provided by the following resolution,
NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That subject to the authorization of
the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are
freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real
or personal property within said City, participating in the
election which is herein called, the negotiable coupon bonds
of
the City of Miami Beach , Florida , shall be issuedin the
amounts and for the several purposes set forth in the election
notice provided by this resolution.
Section 2. That a special election is hereby
called and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, from eight o 'clock A. M. until sundown
on the 8th day of February, A. D. 1926 , for the purpose of sub-
mitting to a vote of tr•e duly registered and qualified voters
of said City who are freeholders therein and who are o-Iners of
and pay taxeson real or personal property within said City,
the ten separate questions as to whether the bonds mentioned in
each separate question shall be authorized, which ten questions
are set forth in the election notice provided by this resolu-
tion.

Section 3 . That the City Clerk , who is also
supervisor of registration, open the registration books of
said City from ten o 'clock A. M. until five o 'clock p. M. each
day, Sunday excepted, from this date until January 29th ,
1926 , for the purpose of registering those persons who are
qualified to register for such election.
Section 4. That M. H. Farr , Harvey
B. Shaw , and Rose Weiss be and they are here-
by appointed inspectors and Ethel Stephenson is hereby alp-
,
pointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said
election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the City
Clerk shall certify to the Mayor .
Section 5 . That said inspectors and Clerk shall
certify the result of said election to said City Council within
five days after the holding of said election.
Section 6 . That four weeks notice of said elec-
tion be given by the Mayor of said City by posting or causing
to be posted a notice hereinafter provided for at least twenty-eight
days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous
places in said City, to-wit : the City Hall , at the post Office
and at Hardie ' s Casino and by publishing the same once each.
week for four weeks in the Miami Daily News and Metropolis , a
newspaper published in the City of Miami , Florida, and of gen-
eral circulation in said City of Miami Beach, there being no
newspaper published insaid City of Miami Beach .
Section 7 . That said Notice of Election shall be
,fife in substantially the following form:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been
called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida ,
and will be held at the City Hall in said City on the _.8th day

of February, 1926 , at which there will be submitted to the duly
registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders
therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal
property within said City the following questions :
( a) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds- in the sum of :'4100 ,000.00 for the
purpose of purchasing real estate as a site for a fire station
and erecting a fire station thereon;
(b ) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida , is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of ,137 ,000.00 for the
purpose of equipping and furnishing a fire station with fire
fighting equipment and the installation of fire alarm boxes ;
(c ) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida, is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of ,x1300 ,000.00 for the
purpose of constructing bridges across waterways within said City;
( d) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of ;?;750 ,000.00 for the
purpose of extending and developing its waterworks system;
( e ) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida , is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of .547 ,000.00 for the
purpose of developing and improving its public parks ;
( f ) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida , is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 60 ,000.00 for the
purpose of equipping its sanitary department with a garbage dis-
posal barge ;
( g) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida, is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $*150 ,000.00 for the
purpose of purchasing real estate for and erecting a garbage
disposal plant thereon;

(h ) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida , is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of :1810 ,000.00 for the
purpose of purchasing real estate for and erecting thereon a
part of a sanitary disposal plant and the laying of drains and
the installation of pumps , all for the operation and disposing
of sewage :
( i ) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, is-
sue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of `)150,000.00 for the
purpose of paving its streets ;
( j ) Shall the City of Miami Beach , Florida , is-
sue negotiable -coupon bonds in the sum of ;250 ,000.00 for the
within said City,
purpose of constructing docks , a ship channel thereto, and ware-
houses for the water , sewer , street and sanitary departments.
Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to con-
duct said election at said time and place .
The registration books will be open from ten o 'clock
A. M. until five o 'clock P. 11. each day, Sunday excepted, from
this date until .January 29th , 1926 , for the registration of
persons qualified to register for said election.

Section 9 . This resolution shall be effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
