Resolution 1276 c 41 140 ION K;tf'r,t ,S 4 RESOLUTION NO. 1276 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT 'WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF $2,654,000.00 FOR THE VARIOUS PURPOSES IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED. dIEREAS, the City Cozncil of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the municipal purposes set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY Tfir; CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly regis- tered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, participating in the election which is herein called, the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the amounts and for the several purposes set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution. Section 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from eight o' clock A. U. , until sundown on the 26th day of February, A. D. , 1926, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who ire owners of _end pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, the ten separate questions as to whether the bonds mentioned in each - separate question shall be authorized, which ten questiois are set forth in th,. election notice provided by this resolution. Section 3. That the City Clerk, who is also supervisor of regis- tration, open the registration boots of said City from ten o' clock A. M. until five o ' clock P. ,I. , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until February 16th, 1926, for the purpose of registering those persons who are qualified to register for such election. Section 4. That .i. H. Farr, John L. Crist and Jose .Weiss, be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and Ethel Stephenson is hereby appointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conduct- ing said election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. Section 5. That said inspectors and Clerk shall certify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. Section 6. That four weeks notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City by posting or causing to be posted a notice hereinafter provided for at least twenty-eight days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in 'said City, to-wit : the City Hall, at the Post Office and at Hardie ' s Casino and by pub- lishing the same once each week for four weeks in the Miami Beach ' , Beacon, a newspaper published in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, / and in the Miami Daily News and Metropolis, a newspaper published in the City of Miami, Florida, and of general circulation in said City of Miami Beach. Section 7. That said notice of election shall be in substan- tially the following form: NOTICE I5 HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and will be held at . the City Hall in said City on the 26th day of February, 1926, at Which there will be submitted to the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, the following questions : 111 ( a) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4100, 000.00 for the purpose of _purchasing real estate as a site for a fire station and erecting a fire station thereon; (b) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 437 ,000.00 for the purpose of equipping and furnishing a fire station with fire fighting equipment and the installation of fire alarm boxes ; ( c) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 000,000.00 for the purpose of construct- ing bridges across waterways within said City; ( d) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4750,000.00 for the purpose of extending and developing its waterworks system; (e ) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bons in the sum of 447 ,000.00 for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks ; (f) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 460,000.00 for the purpose of equipping its sanitary department with a garbage disposal barge ; ( g) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 1150,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing real estate for and erecting a garbage disposal plant thereon; (h) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of 4810,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing real estate for and erecting thereon a part of a sanitary disposal plant and the laying of drains and the installation of pumps, all for the operation and disposing of sewage ; ( i) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon boin.s in the sum of 4150,000.00 for the purpose of paving its streets ; ( j ) Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of . 250,000.00 for the purpose of construct- ing docks, a ship channel thereto within said City, and warehouses for the water, sewer, street and sanitary, departments. Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place. she registration books will be open from ten. o ' clock until five o ' clock F. _. . , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until February 16th, 1926, for the registration of persons qualifid to register for said election. Take a cross (x efore 7 our choice: Here shall be inserted all of the -propositions set forth in the election notice ;provided by this resolution and at the end or immediately after each proposition as set forth, there shall be printed a short line followed by the word "Yes ' , and a short line followed by the word "No".
