AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the last paragraph of Section 2-48 of
Chapter 2, Article IV, of the Code of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida which reads as follows:
"Provided, however, that no person who has
attained his 55th birthday at the time of
his entrance into the employment of the
City shall be deemed to be a regular employee
within the meaning of this Article, and shall
not be deemed to be eligible for the benefits
provided under the terms and provisions
thereof."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Provided, however, that no person who has
attained his 56th birthday at the time of
his entrance into the employment of the
City shall be deemed to be a regular employee
within the meaning of this Article, and shall
not be deemed to be eligible for the benefits
provided under the terms and provisions
thereof."
SECTION 2. That the last paragraph of Section 2-58 of
Chapter 2, Article V, of the Code of the City
of Miami Beach, Florida, which reads as follows:
"Provided, however, that no person who has
attained his 55th birthday at the time of

be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be retroactive to January
28, 1970.

places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the
City Hall in said City on the 5th day of September, 1973,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
