AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14A OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, BY REVISING
THE SCHEDULE OF FEES SET FORTH THEREIN FOR THE
COLLECTION OF GARBAGE AND TRASH AND PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION THEREOF AS AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That that portion of Section 14A-10 reading as
follows:
"The annual fees prescribed herein are payable
in advance for one year beginning October first
of each year. Fees for collections in excess of
the maximum allowable for the annual fee and at
the rates prescribed herein are payable quarterly
and due when billed"
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The monthly fees prescribed herein are payable
monthly in advance beginning October first of
each year, and, the credits provided in Sec-
tion 14A-12 shall also be prorated on a monthly
basis."
SECTION 2. That that portion of Section 14A-11 reading as
follows:
"Such service charges shall become delinquent
if not fully paid within sixty days after due
date."

"Such service charges shall become delinquent
if not fully paid within thirty days after due
date."
SECTION 3. That that portion of Section 14A-12 reading as
follows:
"A. Residence (single family) $54.00 per year.
B. Duplex 54.00 per year per unit.
C. Apartments 18.00 per year per
dwelling unit.
D. Hotels, rooming houses 9.50 per year per
dwelling unit.
E. Commercial:
1. Offices and places not
engaged in sale of
goods 27.00 per year.
2. Commercial establishments,
or any place engaged in
the sale of goods 72.00 per year for
3 cans not to exceed
30 gallons each.
3. Restaurants, including those
in hotels or other buildings 10.50 per seat per year.
Additional cans.. 21.00 per year each "

2. Commercial establishments,
or any place engaged in the
sale of goods 13.87 per month.
3. Restaurants, including
those in hotels or
other buildings 1.94 per month per seat."
SECTION 4. That the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, having found and determined that a public
emergency exists affecting life, health, property or public
safety, this Ordinance is hereby adopted as an emergency measure
pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 of the Charter of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective October 1, 1973.

having been passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida, has been posted by me in three conspicuous
places in the City of Miami Beach, one of which was at the door of the
City Hall in said City on the 25th day of September, 1973,
and that said Ordinance remained posted for a period of at least
thirty days in accordance with the requirements of the City Charter
of the said City of Miami Beach.
