Resolution 1427 semi mm RESOLUTION NO. 1427 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING AN ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO A VOTE THE MATTER OF THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF *475,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE IN THIS RESOLUTION STATED. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the amounts and for the mza.nicipal purpose set forth in the election notice provided by the following resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That subject to the authorization of the duly registered and qualified voters of said City who are freeholders therein, and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, participating in the election which is herein called, the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sum of $475,000.00 for the purpose of developing and improvin its public parks. Section 2. That a special election is hereby called and directed to be held at the City Hall in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from eight o' clock A. M. , until sundown on the 3rd day of August, A. D. , 1926, for the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and qualified voters of the said City who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, the question whether bonds of said City shall be issued in the sum of $475,000.00, for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks. Section 3. That the City Clerk, who is also supervisor of registration, open the registration books of said City from ten o' clock A. M. , until five o ' clock P. M. each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until July 24th, 1926, for the purpose of register- those ing/persons who are qualified to register for such election. 4411 Section 4. That Rose Weiss, C. W. Chase, Sr., and Clint J. Dodson, be and they are hereby appointed inspectors and Ethel Stephenson is hereby appointed Clerk for the purpose of holding and conducting said election at the time and place aforesaid, which names the City Clerk shall certify to the Mayor. Section 5. That said inspectors and Clerk shall certify the result of said election to said City Council within five days after the holding of said election. Section 6. That four weeks notice of said election be given by the Mayor of said City, by posting or causing to be posted, a notice hereinafter provided for at least twenty-eight days prior to the date of said election in three conspicuous places in said City, to-wit: the City Hall, at the Post Office, and at the Police Station, and by publishing the same once each week for four weeks in the Miami Beach Beacon, a newspaper published in Miami Beach, Florida, and in The Miami Daily News and Metropolis, a newspaper published in the City of Miami, Florida, and of general circula- tion in said City of Miami Beach. Section 7. `shat said Notice of Election shall be in sub- stantially the following form; NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, and will be bald a t the City Hall in said City on the 3rd day of August, 1926, at which there will be submitted to the duly registered and qualified voters of said City, who are freeholders therein and who are owners of and pay taxes on real or personal property within said City, the question: "Shall the City of Miami Beach, Florida, issue negotiable coupon bonds in the sum of $475,000.00 for the purpose of developing and improving its public parks?" Inspectors and a Clerk have been appointed to conduct said election at said time and place. The registration books will be open from ten o'clock A. M. , until five o ' clock P. M. , each day, Sunday excepted, from this date until July 24th, 1926, for the registration of persons qualified to register for said election. LOUIS F. BOND ELECTION AUGUST 3rd, 1926. Diake a cross ( xj'efore your choice: Here shall be inserted the proposition set forth in the election notice provided by this resolution and at the end or immediately after such proposition as set forth, there shall be printed a short line , followed by the word "YES" and a short line followed by the word "NO". Section 9. This resolution shall be effective immediate- ly upon its passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of June, A. D. , 1926.
