These respective changes were requested by the Building Director, the Chief of Police, the Parks and Recreation Director, and the Public Works Director and were approved by the Personnel Director; the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees; the Miami Beach Employees Benevolent Association; and the Personnel Board, where applicable. Changing the titles of the classifications of Complaint Operator I to Communications Operator and Key Punch Operator to Data Entry Clerk would provide for more appropriate titles and job specifications which reflect the duties that these employees are performing. Consolidating the duties of the classifications of Sewerage Equipment Mechanic I and Water Equipment Mechanic necessitates abolishing these classifications and establishing the classification of Pumping Mechanic. These changes would provide for a more appropriate title and job specification which will reflect the duties that these employees will be performing. - • Establishing the classification of Dispatcher Trainee would provide an appropriate job classification, specifications, and salary range for individuals being trained to enter into the full functioning Dispatcher classification. Compensating individuals at a training salary rate as opposed to a full functioning salary rate will result in a projected savings of $706.41 for this fiscal year. • Amending the compensation for the classification of Air Conditioning/Electrical Supervisor would provide for an appropriate pay range consistent with the level of job duties and supervisory responsibilities. The projected cost of this amendment is $714.07 for this fiscal year. The total projected cost difference resulting from these actions is $7.66 for • this fiscal year. SOURCE OF FUNDS: Appropriate Departmental Salary Accounts in the 1990-91 adopted budget. • ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: Adoption by the City Commission.
