AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 44 OF THE CITY CODE OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, BY ADDING A NEW
SECTION PROHIBITING VEHICLES ON THE BEACHES AND
PROVIDING FOR EXCEPTIONS THERETO; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 44 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida be and the same is hereby amended by adding a
new section to read as follows:
44-2.2 - Vehicles prohibited on the beaches; exceptions
No motor vehicles shall be permitted on nor operated on
any beach in the City of Miami Beach, except that the
following vehicles may be permitted on and operated on
the beaches:
a. Police vehicles
b. Beach patrol vehicles
c. Authorized emergency vehicles
d. Maintenance vehicles operated by
or for the City
e. Such other vehicles as may be authorized
as necessary by the City Manager.
SECTION 2: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall go into effect upon its passage in
accordance with law.
