Resolution 1466 . �.. :' .fit ; ; s w•3 RESOLUTION Ne. 1466 A RES OLUTI ON OF TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Taloa BEACH, FLO zIDA, APPEALING TO GOVERNOR MARTIN FOR AID. WH-,REAS, the City of Miami Beach and surrounding territory has suffered considerable damage from the Tropical storm of Sep- tember 17th and 18th, 1926, and WHEREAS, many of its citizens are destitute, many in need of temporary financial assistance, and many -linable to rebuild their homes or provide shelter for their families without aid from one source or another. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the said City, that Governor John T. Martin of the State of Florida be petitioned herewith to call a special session of the State Legislature of the State of Florida immediately for the purpose of making an appropriation from the State Treasury to aid in the rehabilitation of the storm devastated area, and that a portion of said funds be made available for use of said City through the said City Council or such other body as the Legislature may designate, at the earliest possible date.
