RESOLUTION NO. 1469
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE
CITY OF :MIAMI BEACH EXTENDING THEIR THANKS
TO THE FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT ODMPANY FOR ='
THEIR .ASSISTANCE DURING THE EMERGENCY FOL-
LOWING THE HURRICANE.
WHEREAS,S, the City of Miami Beach, Florida, has been sub-
jected to a vast amount of material damage, some small loss of
life and considerable personal injuries due to the Tropical
hurricane of September 17th and 18th, 1926, and
WHEREAS, during the emergency, excitement, and more or
less chaotic condition following said hurricane, the organization
known as the Florida Power and Light Coapany did invaluable
work by immediately co-operating with said City Council and City
Manager Relshaw, in extending new and emergency electric power
and light lines and by almost super-human effort obtaining power
and light throughout the various homes and business places in
the City of Miami Beach in record breaking time, and by taking
immediate steps looking towards the renewal of street car
traffic over the Coun ty Causeway.
NOW, THEREFORE, ES IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the said City, that they, together with City Manager Renshaw,
extend herewiththeir hearty thanks to said organization known
as the Florida Power and Light Company for their splendid
work and co-operation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of October, A.D. , 1926.
