Resolution 1473 • RESOLUTION N0. 1473 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH URGING THE MIAMI BEACH RAILWAY COMPANY TO PROVIDE TEMPO- RARY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM TO TAXR THE PLACE OF THE STREET CAR LINES TEMPORARILY AR&NDONED. WHEREAS; the Miami Beach Railway Company has found it necessary to temporarily abandon the Alton Road and Washington Avenue street car lines owing to the destruction wrought by the hurricane of September 18th, 1926, and to the bridge construction now under way over Collins Canal effecting both lines, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, that the said Miami Beach Railway Company be urged to put into operation at once, bus lines or some other form of transportation system in accor- dance with their Franchise Ordinance, sufficient to handle the business in the same manner, schedule, and capacity as heretofore provided by the said Washington Avenue and Alton Road street car lines. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Company be urged to operate said temporary transportation lines over the full length of said street car lines as heretofore in order to properly accommodate the citizens living in the north end of the City of Miami Beach. BE IT rURTNr,R RESOLVED that the said Miami Beach Railway Company be requested to advise the City Counciy at once through City Manager Renshaw, just when and how they will be able to comply with the terms of this resolution.
