Ordinance 77-2095 ORDINANCE NO. 77-2095 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA" TO DELETE ALL REFERENCE TO THE OFFICE OF DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYEE ADVISORY SERVICES, TO REDEFINE THE DEPARTMENTS AND DIVISIONS OF THE CITY'S ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE, TO DELETE THE OFFICE OF CITY ENGINEER AS AN APPOINTEE OF CITY COUNCIL, AND TO DELETE THE CLAIMS IVESTIGATOR AND THE INSURANCE SUPERVISOR AS APPOINTEES OF THE CITY ATTORNEY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the following Sections of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, be deleted: "Section 2-5.1 Director of Employee Advisory Services -- Office created; appointment. Section 2-5.2 Same -- Powers and duties. Section 2-5.3 Same -- Qualifications. Section 2-5.4 Same --JSalary." SECTION 2. That Section 2-6 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, be amended to read as follows: "Section 2-6. Enumeration of organizational units, administrative officers or agencies and their units. The administrative officers or agencies of the city and the organizational units which are hereby created and for which such administrative officers are directly responsible, shall be as follows: A. That Section 2-8 of the Code of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, be amended to read as follows : "Section 2-8. Appointing authorities for unclassified service. The appointing authorities for the unclassified service shall be the city manager; provided that: (a) The City Council shall be the appointing body for the City Attorney. (b) The Mayor shall be the appointing authority for all personnel in the Mayor's office. (c) The City Attorney shall be the appointing authority for all personnel in the legal department." SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective as of April 25, 1977.
