Morales, City Manager DATE: October 24, 2017 LETTER TO COMMISSION the City Co ission SUBJECT: Marine and Waterfront Protection uthority Resolution: To urge the City of Miami Beach Commission to appropriate funds to permanently station a Park Ranger at the Barry Kutun Boat Ramp (Purdy Ramp) and Maurice Gibb Park The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to transmit a Marine and Waterfront Protection Authority (MWPA) resolution approved on October 3, 2017. The resolution recommends that a Park Ranger be permanently stationed at the Barry Kutun Boat Ramp (Purdy Ramp) and Maurice Gibb Park. After thorough discussion of the positive effects the presence of a Park Ranger has had during the few months of this initiative's implementation, the MWPA feels strongly the need for a full -time Park Ranger to safeguard the wellbeing of our constituents as well as the safety of the neighborhood. To this end, the MWPA made a motion and consequently approved the following resolution: The Marine and Waterfront Protection Authority moved to urge the City Commission to appropriate funds to permanently station a Park Ranger at the Barry Kutun Boat Ramp (Purdy Ramp) and Maurice Gibb Park. Action: Motion for this Resolution was made by Dr. Morris Sunshine, seconded by Joel Aberbach. (Vote: 13 -0) Resolution passed unanimously. JLM /SMT /S /clr C: Susanne M.
