Ordinance 80-2189ORDINANCE NO. 80-2189 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1891 OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, THE SAME BEING THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE; CREATING NEW ZONING DISTRICT DESIGNATED RM -24 MULTIPLE FAMILY MEDIUM LOW DENSITY DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR DISTRICT PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR USES PERMITTED, MINIMUM LOT AREA, MINIMUM LOT WIDTH, MINIMUM YARDS, MAXIMUM BUILDING HEIGHT, MINIMUM FLOOR AREA, AND MAXIMUM DENSITY IN SAID DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR CONDITIONAL USES THAT MAY BE PER- MITTED IN SAID DISTRICT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1891, as amended, the same being the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami Beach, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section designated 6-20, RM -24 Multiple Family Medium Law Density District, which shall immediately follow Section 6-19 and which shall read as follows: xx "6-20 RM -24 MULTIPLE FAMILY MEDIUM LOW DENSITY DISTRICT A. District Purpose. This is a Medium Density Low- rise, single and multi -family residential district primarily designed to encourage and enhance family residence. The District is intended to produce an environment of desirable character and result in a superior quality to housing, open space and parking areas. B. Uses Permitted. No land, water or structure may be used, in whole or in part, except for one or more of the following uses: 1. Apartment building. 2. Group houses. 3. One- or two-family dwellings. 4. The following uses may be permitted as a Conditional Use: (a) Automobile Parking Lot: open non-commercial (b) Marine Dockage (c) Public and governmental buildings and uses (d) Publicly owned and operated recreation facility, playground, playfield and park (e) Public utilities or public service uses, structures and appurtenances (f) Temporary use for a period not to exceed 15 days. C. Minimum Lot Area. 6,000 square feet. D. Minimum Lot Width. 60 feet. E. Minimum Yards. As provided in Section 8. OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY - 1700 CONVENTION CENTER DRIVE - MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA 33139 } F. Maximum Building Height. 30 feet. G. Minimum Floor Area: 1. Single family detached dwelling: 1,800 square feet. 2. Two family dwelling and group house: 900 square feet per dwelling unit. 3. Apartment building: 750 square feet per dwelling. H. Maximum Density. 24 units per acre." SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here- with be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall go into effect upon its passage in accordance with law.
